Unless you've been hiding away today chances are you've come across news about Back To The Future (BTTF). Yes today, October 21st 2015, is the day that Marty McFly travels to in Back To The Future 2 and creators minds ran wild with the possibility of what technological life might be like. So when it comes to cars and driving is the world dreamt up in 1989 better then the one we're living in? (Spoiler Alert they didn't have VDD Badges so it's not looking good for Back To The Future...)
Let's have a look at what Back To The Future thought Cars would be like today!
So this one looks like a clear win for BTTF. They don't seem to fly everywhere and there are electric cars that stay firmly on the ground. But the option is there for taking your car to the air and that would be faster and all around more amazing then staying grounded.
We of course are no where near this technology that most people dream of having so this one is a clear win for Back To The Future.
Although we can't see a badge in that windscreen...
Thumb Payment For Taxis
To pay for a taxi all the older Biff has to do is press his thumb down on a reader et viola it's all paid for. We're definitely closer to this optimistic idea with contactless cards and thumb print readers on our phones. This is just one step further and far more secure then our good ol' contactless cards. Although I like to think our machines look a bit better.
We think BTTF looses just on this one as we're pretty close!
(Being able to update and pay for something sounds a lot like a feature that VDD is working on as we speak...)
Mr Fusion Fuel Convertor
So putting this in here is a bit cheeky as technically it's not from the 'future' but is a fantastical invention in 1989 from the genius mind of Doc Brown. It is a pretty amazing piece of technology that, if you ask the VDD team all cars should definitely have!
The idea is pretty simple you put rubbish into the machine and it will convert it into fuel for the DeLorean to run. It must be pretty effective given that it creates enough power to get them through time and space...
BTTF definitely wins compared to our world with this one. Although we're not sure if the Oil industry would agree.
1 Big Win For Our 2015
So the fictional world of BTTF wins on paper but that's because there are no boundaries. When you really delve into it could you imagine the chaos of just letting cars fly off from place to place?
In our world however, there is one piece of tech that pushes us ahead of the BTTF one. No not just our work on electrical cars we're talking about our VDD badges that will revolutionise the way you think about the time consuming parts of driving and will completely change the way you park. Our VDD Badges will help free you from remembering due dates and Tax worries. Just like Back To The Future it combines the old paper tax discs with new technology that will make you life easier then ever before.
And even better for a limited time only it's completely free!
